Say it with flowers

Flowers have long been a focal point of the tablescape. And now that people are posting pictures of their incredible tablescapes on Pinterest and Instagram, there is so much inspiration out there.

There are so many ways to lay a table. Flowers are nearly always the centrepiece.

Here are some easy ideas to inspire you to give your table a little extra flower power!

SIMPLE WITH A TWIST

Use an assortment of flowers, but all in one colour. Select matching vases, but in various sizes and arrange your flowers in clusters along the table.

Metallics add a little something extra.

GET FRUITY

Do the old vase-within-a-vase trick and arrange some vibrant slices of fruit to give your flowers a burst of fun.

Easy squeezy!

SMELL THE RAINBOW

Arrange your flowers by colour to create a rainbow bouquet.

Easy and effective.

WATER SURPRISE

Go for simple flowers, in just a single colour and use food colouring to colour the water. This works best if you can utilise natural light.

Almost like stained glass!

SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF

Use gelatine in your water to suspend fruit in the vase. You could even suspend (waterproof) fairy lights or sparkly objects.

GO SWEET OR GO HOME

Candy is so versatile when it comes to decorating vases! Choose your candy to compliment your theme or occasion. It's sure to bring a smile to your guests’ faces.

Sprinkles! Use the vase-within-a-vase trick for this, too.

IT’S IN THE WATER

Submerge your flowers for an unusual effect. Remember, submerged flowers won’t last as long, but they are different.

A few flowers can go a long way.

BE CREATIVE

Use some props with your flower arrangement to make it quirky, rustic or cute.

What have you got floating about in your cupboards?
